post The University of Dreamland

March 2nd, 2007

This fantasy came up to my mind after a week of hardwork. Here are 10 things that would make me love my university. It is a top class imaginative university but the attributes I complied are true and could occur at some universities but not collectively.

1- Only 2 hours of lecturing per day for 4 days a week.

2- Two steps away from my home (not here, in Bahrain akeed).

3- Can download a video covering the lecture if you have missed it so know what the professor said.

4- You pay 50BD for the whole academic year.

5- No group assignments, only individual.

6- All lectures are held in one lecture theatre so you don't have to remember all the halls where the lectures are held.

7- All lecturers are noble prize winners.

8- Not too much geniuses so that you don't look dumb when you ask a silly question!

9- No indians or chinese can enroll in this univeristy.

10- Exam questions are drawn from the past exam papers so all you need to revise is the past papers (no lecture notes, no book chapter, no journals).

Hola

  3. Actually, funny thing is my current university has some of the above criteria. Classes are only 2 hours a day, 4 days a week. We can download a video if we miss a lecture. We have hardly any assignments and when we do, they’re individual. The same lecture theatre. Exam questions are all from past papers. There you go!

  7. June - u’re just lucky but you still not in dreamland uni. coz not all the points above are fulfilled.

Lizardo - You mean UOB is the uni. of NightmareLand right? LOL

    Sweeety - Everyone is invited.

Once I have the money and become a millionnaire (in my dreams!) I will build a uni. with these specifications and see how thousands and thousands would enroll.

    Thanks all

  12. no worries al7ora and sorry for mis-understanding you.
And inshallah you will get another chances akeed in the near future, so don’t be put down by the one which had already blown away. Concentrate on what’s coming up.

you will still have the chance to apply for Ministry of Education scholarships and as I believe your GPA is much higher than 95% you will be certainly offered a scholarship, which although it is a bit demanding coz after you graduate they will control your future for several years to work as a teacher, but it is still worth it since you will have the chance to go abroad or at least study in a private uni in bahrain on their expenses.

Another way is to ask for scholarships that private sector companies offer to fresh high school graduates(Bapco, Batelco, A.M Al-A’ali and so many others). They offer you not just to study the Bachelors degree but also the masters degree. A recent graduate in 2006 have been offered a 5 years full paid scholarship by A.M. AlA’ali company to study in France. Besides that, you will be guarenteed a position on one of these private sector companies, which is in my point of view very cool.

Good luck al7ora and always here to support
